Nanowires are 1D nanostructures with a wide range of potential uses. The ability of bottom-up growth methods to ‘program’ nanowire structure and composition with nanoscale precision opens the door to novel materials properties and functionality.
Nanowire Week 2023 will cover all aspects of nanowire research and development, from fabrication and fundamental properties to applications.
Main topics include:
Nanowire growth and manufacturing
Heterostructures and alloys
Nanowire surface patterning
Arrays, networks, and hierarchial systems
Advanced microscopies and spectroscopies applied to nanowires
Optical, electrical, thermal and mechanical properties
Electron transport and doping in nanowires
Quantum behavior and devices
Nanowire integration into functional materials and systems
Hybrid nanowire-biological systems
Sensors and actuators
Electronic and optoelectronic devices
Energy conversion and storage
